A video of the complete dig-through to China with the maximum upgrades can be found below. The game takes a few hours to complete and is fairly straightforward. You dig, collect resources, upgrade your pickaxe, timer, drill, and mole. As you get the next level of pickaxe upgrades, you proceed to the next layer of Earth, mine new resources, and upgrade your pickaxe again.
As a Runescape player, I'm one of those gamers that like to see progress being made, so I enjoyed this game.
The game is a race against time to collect resources. If you do terribly at collecting, there's no stress, just try again.
If you want to quickly complete the game, do not underestimate the bombs. Despite being an item unlockable at any point of the game, they are most useful at the end, for getting through the hard soil that keeps diamonds. The bombs, along with the mole upgrade, will help you get past the middle section of the Earth. Beyond the diamond layer, the stone will get progressively get smoother
Halfway through my play-through of the game, I wondered how the gravity wold be like at the center of the Earth. As your player goes past the middle layer, they will always face the same direction, until they reach the end, when they are flipped upside down to match the gravity that they should be experiencing. I'm suddenly curious, what would happen if a tunnel was made from one side of the equator to the other, and an object was thrown into the hole. Would it go all the way through and be transported to the other side of the Earth, or would gravity constantly pull that item towards the middle?
